Introducing the Silhouette Instalift
The Silhouette Instalift is an innovative procedure that aims to bridge the gap between injectable treatments and surgery. The Silhouette Instalift uses biodegradable sutures to lift the deeper tissues that support the face. No incisions are made during this process, and you won’t have to go under general anesthesia. Instead, our surgeons numb the treatment area with a local anesthetic, then use a fine needle to insert specialized sutures into the dermal tissue around the cheeks and jawline. These sutures contain several tiny cones that act like scaffolding, raising and supporting the skin and connective tissues of the face.
The sutures used to perform an Instalift are made from Polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA), a safe, naturally derived material that has been used in medicine for over 30 years. PLGA sutures are harmlessly absorbed by the body over time, so you won’t need to have your sutures removed at any point. Discomfort associated with this procedure is typically very minimal. Some patients report minor swelling, bruising, and tenderness after their Instalift, but pain is uncommon. Most people who have this procedure can return to work right away. If the pain is a concern for you, just let our doctors know; we’ll do everything we can to ensure your comfort, including using ProNox to help you feel as relaxed as possible during your appointment. ProNox is an inhaled sedative medication that greatly increases your feelings of comfort; the medication safely and quickly tapers off after use so you do not experience the same after-effects as other forms of sedation.
Anyone who is in good overall health can have an Instalift. Candidates may also need to discontinue the use of certain medications, like blood thinners, before treatment.
