Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty in Paramus at Art Plastic Surgery

Though surgical rhinoplasty is useful for some patients, surgery isn’t always necessary to correct cosmetic problems with the nose. Most minor imperfections in nasal shape can be effectively corrected with the use of dermal fillers. These safe injectable compounds can quickly and painlessly raise the nasal bridge, fill in hollows on or around the nose, and smooth out irregularities in nasal shape.

At Art Plastic Surgery, all non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures are performed by our team of board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Luis A. Zapiach and Dr. John T. Cozzone. Our doctors tailor every injectable treatment they perform to suit the individual patient, creating harmonious, flattering results.

What Happens During a Non-Surgical Nose Job/Rhinoplasty in Bergen County?

During non-surgical rhinoplasty, our doctors carefully inject soft tissue fillers into specific areas of the nose, thereby improving its shape. These fillers are typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that’s already present in your skin and connective tissues. When dermal filler gel is injected into the nose, it binds with existing HA in the skin, amplifying the volume of treated areas.

This volume-building effect can add thickness to a thin nasal bridge or raise a flat nasal bridge. Fillers can also be injected into the area between the tip and bridge of the nose to create a straighter nasal bridge. Doing this can minimize the appearance of a prominent nasal “hump” or protruding nasal tip. Dermal fillers are also a great way to get rid of age-related hollows and wrinkles around the nose. Our doctors can fill in noticeable nasolabial folds (smile lines) while performing your non-surgical rhinoplasty.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty FAQ

In many cases, patients can opt to have a non-surgical nose job in place of traditional rhinoplasty surgery. Still, this procedure does have some limitations: It can’t correct breathing problems caused by congenital disabilities, like a deviated septum, and it can’t reduce the size of the nose. However, if you feel that your nose is out of proportion with the rest of your facial features, our doctors may recommend using dermal fillers to increase the size of your chin, jawline, and cheeks. Accentuating your other facial features may balance out your nose, making it appear less prominent. If you can’t have surgery or you’re not ready to try a surgical approach, our doctors will work with you to find the right non-invasive treatment to meet your needs.

The effects of non-surgical nose jobs last between 12 to 18 months. However, because dermal fillers are low-risk, patients can safely have their procedure redone every year or two to maintain their results.

Recovery from non-surgical rhinoplasty is typically very easy. Some patients notice some mild swelling and tenderness around their injection sites, but these symptoms usually wear off in one to three days. Also, note that if you wear eyeglasses, you may need to switch to wearing contact lenses for a few weeks after your procedure to give your fillers time to bind with your skin fully.
