ASIAN RHINOPLASTY SURGERY

When performing Asian nose surgery, or Asian rhinoplasty, the goal for thier patients typically involves making the nose larger, whereas the typical goals of rhinoplasty involve making the nose smaller. Reasons for desiring a rhinoplasty are no different for patients of Asian descent at Art Plastic Surgery, as they typically focus on restoring balance to the face to increase the overall comfort and confidence in their appearance.

An Asian rhinoplasty typically addresses the bridge and tip of the patient’s nose through the use of a combination of implant materials, including silicone and the patient’s own tissue from either the inner nose or ear. At the first consultation, Dr. Zapiach or Dr. Cozzone and their patients discuss in detail the different options available and develop goals unique to each patient’s desires for the eventual cosmetic enhancement results.

ASIAN RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

With Asian rhinoplasty, the bone is not usually fractured during the procedure. The material our doctors typically uses to build up the bridge of the nose is silicone, which has been used for years as a safe and effective option for the Asian rhinoplasty procedure. To build up the tip of the Asian nose, which is typically less tolerable of extensive procedures, natural tissues from the patient’s ear or other areas of the nose are often used to ensure the implant is not rejected.

The typical Asian rhinoplasty surgery takes less than an hour, and can be performed under intravenous sedation. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine seven days after the procedure is performed.
