How Can I Optimize My Tummy Tuck Results?

As we discussed in our previous blog post, the tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) procedure can be ideal for men and women who are struggling to eliminate isolated pockets of fat or excess skin around the abdomen. Following the procedure, however, there are several recommendations patients should adhere to both during and after the recovery process in order to optimize results.

Though strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least six weeks after surgery, at Art Plastic Surgery we advise taking short walks as soon as you feel comfortable enough to do so in order to reduce the risk of blood clots developing. Maintaining your usual healthy diet during this time is also critical as you will need to take it easy with your physical activity, though it is important to return to your normal exercise routine once you have fully healed. A tummy tuck is not meant to replace good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Instead, this body contouring procedure is intended to give active men and women the final boost they need to achieve – and maintain – the flat stomach they have already been working toward.
