What’s the Best Age for a Facelift?

Whether it manifests in the form of wrinkles, muscle laxity, sagging skin, or a combination of multiple aesthetic concerns, no one is immune to the eventual effects of facial aging. Despite their inevitability, aging symptoms don’t become evident for every person at the same time due to factors such as genetics, environmental elements, lifestyle habits, the natural aging process, and more—all of which are unique to each individual. Additionally, non-surgical “preventative” and “maintenance” treatments like skin care products and cosmetic injectables are more popular than ever in today’s culture, helping many people limit initial signs of aging for quite some time.

Keeping all this in mind, there is not a “best” age to receive a facelift. In fact, there are many instances in which one 50-year-old is an ideal candidate for facelift surgery while another 50-year-old does not yet need to undergo a surgical procedure to address their aesthetic concerns. The same can be said for individuals in their 30s, 40s, 60s, and even beyond. As previously stated, it all depends on a variety of factors unique to every person.

If you are interested in facial rejuvenation to restore a more youthful, revitalized appearance, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons at Art Plastic Surgery. Following a physical examination and thorough discussion of your specific needs and desires, your surgeon will be able to determine if facelift surgery is the most appropriate option, or if another facial treatment would be more beneficial at this time.
