Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers & Lifts in New Jersey

Dermal fillers have gained popularity among adults of all ages thanks to their ability to address a variety of cosmetic concerns safely and with little to no downtime. They offer a cost-effective way to enhance facial contours, including under-eye areas, and can noticeably reduce signs of aging. In addition to smoothing lines and adding volume, many fillers also help stimulate collagen production, resulting in a refreshed and more youthful appearance.

At Art Plastic Surgery, all injectable filler treatments are administered by our board-certified plastic surgeon — Dr. Luis A. Zapiach — ensuring precise, subtle results. Dermal Fillers for Under the Eyes

Most facial fillers consist of injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) gel. HA is naturally found within the human body, so HA-based fillers carry very little risk of an allergic reaction or other unwanted side effects.

When injected into the skin, dermal fillers bind with HA that’s already present, which amplifies the volume of the skin around the injection site. Injecting HA also increases collagen production, a protein that keeps the skin strong, supple, and hydrated. Gradual improvements in skin condition, therefore, follow the immediate contouring effects of fillers.

We also use Radiesse®, which is a type of dermal filler that utilizes calcium hydroxylapatite to plump and smooth the skin. This active ingredient also helps the body produce more of its own natural collagen, similar to hyaluronic acid, so your results are natural-looking and long-lasting.

How Are Dermal Fillers Used, and What Is the Cost of Dermal Fillers in Paramus, NJ?

Dermal fillers are frequently used to correct signs of age-related volume loss. They can fill in deep wrinkles (like smile lines) and smooth out hollows around and under the eyes and cheeks, for example, giving the face a fuller, more youthful look. The collagen-boosting effects of HA may even make the skin more resistant to further creasing and stretching.

Dermal fillers used under the eyes are also excellent sculpting compounds. As a result, adults of all ages can use dermal fillers to accentuate certain features or create balanced, symmetrical facial proportions.

At Art Plastic Surgery, we use fillers to perform non-surgical chin augmentation, jaw augmentation, lip augmentation, and rhinoplasty. We can also use fillers to correct blemishes, such as acne scars.

As previously mentioned, the cost of a dermal filler procedure is very reasonable, and the results can be life-changing. For more information about dermal filler costs, contact Art Plastic Surgery.

The Benefits of Dermal Fillers

Not only are dermal fillers safe, but they’re also generally painless. Most patients can return to all their normal activities after a day’s recovery time. This means you’ll need minimal time off from work for the procedure.

Dermal filler appointments usually take between 15 minutes to an hour, and you won’t have to be sedated during your appointment. We’ll numb your skin under the eyes with a local anesthetic to prevent discomfort. Additionally, we can also provide ProNox™, a sedative medication that is inhaled and helps patients feel significantly relaxed during their time in our office.

The duration of the effects created by dermal fillers depends on the filler used and the injection location, but it can last from 12 to 24 months, so you won’t need frequent top-up injections. If you want to maintain your results, we recommend seeing us once every 12 months.

HA-based fillers are available in a variety of different consistencies that are designed to treat specific issues. Thicker fillers are ideal for adding volume, filling hollows, and reshaping the chin, jaw, or nose. On the other hand, thinner fillers are excellent for filling in the lines of softer, thinner tissue, like the eyelids or lips. At Art Plastic Surgery, we provide our patients with the full suite of both Allergan and Galderma fillers, including Restylane®, Restylane® Lift®, Bellafill®, and Juvéderm®. We also use Merz products, like Radiesse®, and the RHA line of HA fillers from Teoxane.

When you visit us for a consultation, we’ll review your cosmetic goals and choose the right fillers to meet your needs. Dr. Zapiach and Dr. Vieira often use more than one type of filler during treatment to create flawlessly natural, personalized results. How to Prepare for a Dermal Filler

Pause Blood-Thinning Medications
Temporarily stopping aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain supplements can help reduce the risk of bruising and swelling. However, always confirm any prescription changes with your doctor to protect your health.

Avoid Alcohol and Smoking
Refrain from consuming alcohol and tobacco a few days before your appointment, as both can increase the likelihood of complications.

Adopt a Gentle Skin Care Routine
Use mild, non-irritating products on your face and neck in the days leading up to your treatment. A calm, hydrated skin barrier improves the outcome of this minimally invasive procedure.

Stay Hydrated and Eat Well
Focus on hydrating and eating nutrient-rich foods to support your soft tissue and overall skin vitality. Doing so can improve your body’s readiness for the treatment.

Recovering from a Dermal Filler Procedure

Use Cold Compresses for Swelling
Apply ice packs to reduce initial inflammation and promote faster healing. Be sure to keep sessions brief to avoid irritating the treated areas.

Limit Strenuous Activities
As mentioned previously, many patients can return to their daily activities soon after their dermal filler procedure. However, it’s still a good idea to avoid intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours to help minimize swelling and maintain filler placement.

Avoid Touching or Massaging Treated Areas
Refrain from pressing on your face, especially over areas like the fat pads or marionette lines. Instead, let the filler settle naturally within your dermis.

Follow Aftercare Instructions Carefully
Adhere to all post-treatment guidelines we provide, including any advice related to skin care and potential signs of inflammation. This is key to a smooth recovery and lasting results!
